Tuesday morning we had a special guest, Bessy Rodriguez. She shared her testimony about God's grace. It was a powerful word that she shared with us.
These are part of our senior class...these students have been with Ruach most of their school life.

After the morning devotion it was time for a special game. The first International Whiffle Ball game! The City Life Team and teachers vs. High School students!

After the game we loaded up the team, 10 of my high school students who came with us as translators, and Pastor Joel, and headed to Burger King to feed the group! We were met at Burger King by 7 members of my church who wanted to be a part of the outreach we had planned that afternoon.

After everyone was fed, we loaded up and headed to the street market. Jim had given me $100 to buy groceries for the 10 families we were going to bless, so on Tuesday Paula, Hannah and I had gone shopping and bought rice, beans, sugar, shortening, maseca, flour, pasta, tomato sauce, toilet paper...now we were heading to the market to buy more necessities.
We were able to purchase for each family: cheese, montequilla, eggs, coffee, avacadoes, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, and bananas.

After getting all the groceries we loaded everyone up again and headed to a neighborhood called La Islia, where Carmen, one of the members of my church, lives. She had told 9 other families that we would be coming.
We arrived with bubbles and candies and a lot of groceries to share!
My students jumped right in with the kids and began leading them in some songs!

We are gathering together for Pastor Joel to share with them why we have come!
It is to share the love of Jesus with them!

We split up and each team member went with a student translator and someone from my church to go to the homes of each family there. Here is Alyssa getting to know the family that she is with.
In the end, I was left with Pastor Joel and Oscar, so we went with Carmen and her family. Along the way we ran into Matthew and Francklin who had finished with their family. So I asked them to come along with us. It was a God appointment!!! When we got there Pastor Joel was telling us that Carmen's husband, Jose, has never accepted Jesus and would we like to share with him. So Matthew talked with him and asked him how we could pray for him. And Jose said he wanted to follow Jesus! WOW!!! So Matthew prayed for him and led him in prayer to accept Jesus. Francklin is one of my students who was there to translate. What a great moment!

This day blessed me so much! I was so happy to be able to do this and bless this family and all the families she lives with in her neighborhood. I just can't say enough about how special this day was to me! It was exciting for Joel to be able to lead this with the team and share such a huge blessing with these families!
