Monday night after the rally was the International Student meet and greet. We were to bring things to trade, like pins, bracelets, flags, etc...and meet students from other countries. They also suggested that the international students come wearing their "native" dress. Our kids were happy that we suggested we wear our Honduras soccer jerseys as our native clothes. I figured what better to represent Honduras!
So we headed to rally that night in our dress clothes and our Honduras soccer jerseys!
Henry celebrating at rally wearing our Honduras flag!
Johanny meeting some American students.
A young man from South Africa happy to lend his back to Lesly if she will sign his convention book.
Not sure how I missed getting any photos of the girls with Peurto Rico. That became the joke of the week....just saying Peurto Rico would put a big smile on Lesly´s face.... there were some cute boys from Peurto Rico who were stealing my girls´hearts!
It was a fun night...the kids received pins, flags, jerseys, from countries like Canada, Taiwan, Australia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, and of course Peurto Rico. Dassia´s favorite thing she received was a kangaroo pin she received from one of the speakers who was from Australia.
It was a fun night and so cool to see these kids from different countries meeting each other, sharing and trading gifts, and email addresses.
The world could learn a lot from these kids!
