Time to hit the road again. We had a long drive to Kentucky, to the Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
We drove, well I drove, the kids slept, and Henry entertained me by taking pictures of all the nice cars that drove by. That was one thing that was talked about a lot on the trip....a difference that they all noticed...it seemed like everyone in the states had nice cars, or new cars. I tried to explain to them that while yes, that is true most of the time, they don´t actually own those vehicles, they are making big payments every month.
The land of milk and honey is really the land of debt and gotta have it!
We arrived at the college, and went through all the steps to get us registered and checked in, it was late that night before we finally got all into our rooms...But the following morning we were up and ready to start the fun.
There are some photos taken out the window of the room I shared with Dassia.
Sunday was sort of a day to get settled in, find your way around campus, and just hang out.....so we took off that morning to drive to Nashville, Tennessee to the Opry Mills Mall, about an hour away.
Sounded like a great idea until we arrived and found it was closed because of flooding.
But the security gaurds gave us some ideas and we were off and running again. Here we are coming into the restaurant.
Josiah LOVED Gerson! They became fast buddies!
Before going shopping we stopped at a barbecue place to feed everyone...oh man and did we feed them!
I think Henry is ready to eat!
Annette order some family style meals so they could try different types of meat, pork, chicken, briscuit...it was all there....notice my plain baked potato between Helen and Dassia....of course it´s the gringo who goes to the states and gets tummy issues with the food.
They ate and ate and ate...and tried different flavors of barbecue sauce...this was a big hit!
